This year, Gwyn Meadows Farm, from Zone 11, is making quite the impact on the points, leading with a champion for middle school and high school points. The leading team gets the end of the season prize for champion.
What to know about your first season of IEA
- In Ride IEA, you are not only competing, but not on a horse you would usually ride. Instead, you draw a horse and whatever, or whoever it is, you have to get on and make it look like you've been riding it forever. All that the rider is to bring to a show, is their show clothes, for example, show coat, boots, helmet, gloves, etc. The rider does not need a saddle or horse, it is all provided by the hosts.
- The rider is not given much knowledge about the horse, only a fifteen word sentence, and watching the owner school the horse.
- WIth IEA, there comes points, not just 1st and second place. The rider has personal points, and the coach of the team picks a team rider to compete for the teams points for the day for not only high school but also middle school, so it could be anyone. For first place, it's seven points, second place gets five points, third place gets four points and so on.
